Welcome to my new blog.

My book, The Sound of Her Voice: My Blind Parents’ Story, is available now.

While the book is full of their adventures and struggles as my parents navigated life without sight, I realized that I would be unable to include many other stories, newspaper articles, and photographs that would help to round out their story. I had a blast reading newspapers from the 1940s and 1950s.

Everything was news back then, from my dad’s first flight with his Seeing Eye dog to the story about dad telling his friend that he was driving the wrong way on a one-way street. That story made the Associated Press and was published nationwide! 

I would like for this blog to also serve as a forum for anyone who would like to add their memories of Mario and Jane Pieroni. Comments and memories are always welcome!
